\r\n In Sufi tradition, \"Urs\" literally means a wedding or union. The Urs of a Wali (friend of Allah \ufdfb) is not mourned as a death, but celebrated as a union \u2014 the moment the soul is freed from this world to join its Beloved, Allah \ufdfb. What appears outwardly as departure is understood inwardly as arrival: the soul's true wedding day with its Creator.\r\nThis is why devotees gather at an Urs not in grief, but in remembrance, gratitude, and celebration \u2014 honouring the life and teachings of the saint, drawing closer to Allah \ufdfb through their example, and renewing their own devotion upon the path.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n \r\n

\r\n Meaning of Urs\r\n <\/h3>\r\n\r\n

\r\n In Sufi tradition, \"Urs\" literally means a wedding or union \u2014 and it is precisely this meaning that gives the occasion its profound significance. The Urs of a Wali (friend of Allah \ufdfb) does not mark a death, but a union: the moment the soul, freed from this world, is joined at last with its Beloved, Allah \ufdfb. What appears as the saint's departure from this world is understood in Tasawwuf as their truest arrival \u2014 the wedding day of the soul with its Creator.\r\nThis is why the Urs of a Wali is observed not with mourning, but with remembrance, gratitude, and celebration. Devotees gather to honour the life and teachings of the saint, to draw closer to Allah \ufdfb through their blessed example, and to renew their own devotion on the path. At Astana-e-Aliya Naqeeb Abad Sharif, the Urs gatherings \u2014 Jashan-e-Naqeebi for Hazoor Naqeeb-ul-Awliya (R.A.) and Jashan-e-Azmat-ul-Awliya for his son \u2014 draw tens of thousands of devotees each year, alive with Hamd o Naat, Darood o Salam, collective zikr, and the soul-stirring Mehfil-e-Sama, in a fitting tribute to lives lived entirely in service of Allah \ufdfb and His Beloved Messenger \ufdfa.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n \r\n
